On June 17th alumni from the 60's gathered for a round of golf at Quail Valley Golf Course.  The event was initiated and organized by Mike Story who brought the annual Central Oregon event to Portland.  While this event will not replace the ongoing Central Oregon golf event, Mike asked for someone to step up and see to it that the Portland golf event continues next year.  THIS WAS A GREAT EVENT!  LETS DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR!

Later that evening the group met at Art Larrance's Raccoon Lodge in Beaverton, along with a few of their wives and a couple of other alumni that stopped by to say hi.

Delta Golf!  The back of Leland's t-shirt announces the event.

Odis Avritt '65 explains something to Alan Hubka.

Steve Hanamura '67 listens as Stu Young describes the action of the Celtic/Laker game being shown on t.v.

Wally & Sue Karstad.  (and man can Wally drive the golf ball!)

Jim Manary explains the rules of golf to Mike Story & Bill Perry.

Gail Manary tells Sue Karstad how long it took to play 18 holes of golf today.

Pat Gillespie is wondering how long it takes to get dinner around here?  Art!

Ron Hartwig and Dave Sevall also wonder where is the food?

Dave Sevall listens to Mike Reed explain why it takes umteen hours to get here from Atlanta.

Dave Lindberg and Mike Story commiserate over where their foursome placed in the scramble.

Garlinn Story explains to Sandy & Stu Young why Mike's golf score is humorous.

Art Larrance makes an appearance.  Good beer, Art!!

Doug Sargent, Steve & Donna Paulson.

Oh you guys!  Get a room, would ya?

Alumni Enjoy 5th Thursday Event

Delta Psi Delta Alumni gathered at Art Larrance's Raccoon Lodge on Thursday, April 29th, for their regular get together.  While the Portland Trailblazers were in their 6th (and last) game of the playoffs, ten 'old' friends opted to fore go the Blazer's demise and gathered for some brotherhood, sharing current happenings in their lives.

Seen above, from left to right, are John Shadden, Glen Williams, Chuck Hale, Steve Hamilton, Gary Cox, Ron Johnston, Doug Sargent, Jerry Sunday, Dave Sevall and John Gardiner.

We look forward to July 29th, when the next 5th Thursday event will take place.  We hope to see a BIG turnout on that date and catch up with many 'old', and young, friends!

Ninety Five alumni, members and guests turned out for a banquet held in Riley Hall. They were entertained by the Delta Men’s Chorus, led by John Adkins '62 singing old favorites, including "Just Put Her in a Corner", to Larry and Cindy Jones. Delta Alumni from 1950 though the current members were in attendance.  This years homecoming, as last years', was such a success that the Deltas plan on doing it every year! So we look forward to seeing everyong in 2010. Linfield President Hellie (pictured) addressed the attendees. The Delta alumni seen below are named (along with other attendees) on another page of the website.
